With the Test Case Repository feature in the QAlity Plus app, you can easily create your folders and subfolders.

Creating

folders

To create a folder, click the Create Folder button. You will find it at the top of the Repository navigation panel on the left.

It’s important to note that you can add to your folder test cases from multiple different projects. The only purpose of choosing the main project is to set the permissions for the new folder. You can learn more about folder permissions here.

Once you’ve created a new folder, it will appear on the list in the navigation panel on the left. There are two types of folder icons - a filled one, indicating that there are test cases in the folder, and a hollow one, indicating that the folder is empty.

subfolders

You can also create subfolders in your parent folder. When being in the folder, click on the Create Subfolder button.

You can notice Notice that the possibility of changing the project is blocked. It’s That’s because the subfolder permission settings are always based on the parent folder permission settings.

Once you’ve created a new subfolder, it will appear on the list in the navigation panel on the left and at the top when you’re in the parent folder.

There is no limit to creating additional subfolders for You can create an unlimited number of subfolders in a parent folder. The subfolders can be nested in the parent folder or in any other subfolder within the parent folder. For example, in the screenshot below I have created the following hierarchy:

This is the view from the First Part subfolder which contains two additional subfolders. You can also see that the app shows informs you if the subfolder includes more folders:

Please note that the order of your folders and subfolders in on the list depends on when they were created. This means that the folder or subfolder created last will be positioned higher in the highest on the list. Currently, it is not possible to change the order in which the listfolders are displayed.

There are two ways how you can navigate methods of navigation through your hierarchy of folders.

  1. You can enter your folders and display their content from the main view. Once you enter a folder you can see its subfolders. To see the subfolder’s test cases click on the expand icon.
