Test steps, description, and other data in the QAlity Test issue type (Test case) are always shown in the newest version.

However, when you execute a test case (ad hoc or in the test cycle), the version for this test execution is “frozen“. This means that even if you add new steps to the test case, they will not be displayed in this particular execution. If you wish to use the newest version of the test case you need to execute this test case again.

If you executed a test case in a test cycle you need to either clone the cycle (which will create a new, clean cycle, with no executions) or delete the execution of the edited test case and execute it again.


The cloning test cycle feature is available in QAlity Plus - Test Management for Jira exclusively.


This prevents the execution history from being inconsistent.
