Test Case Types [PLUS Advanced]

This feature is available in QAlity Plus Advanced Edition exclusively.

You can read more about Test Types here.

QAlity Plus Advanced allows you to define test type name, description, color, and avatar icon. This can be done via Apps Manage your appsQAlity Plus Settings → Test types.

Please note that only Jira admins can modify Test type settings. The available options are presented below:

Create a test case type

A new test type can be created with the following steps:

  1. Click Add test type.

  2. Choose a Test type name (mandatory), Description, Color, and Avatar icon.

  3. Click Create test type.

A new test case type should now be ready to use.

To easily distinguish between many test types, there is a wide variety of icons, which can be applied to any test type:

Edit a test case type

On the Test types page, Jira admins can edit existing test types. To do so:

  1. Click Edit test type.

  2. Modify the details of the test type and click Save changes.

Delete a test case type

On the Test types page, Jira admins can delete existing test types. To do so:

  1. Click Edit test type.

  2. Click Delete test type.

  3. Select an alternative test type to which the test cases from the deleted test type will be transferred.

At least one test type always has to be available. It’s not possible to delete all test types.

Setting up a default test type

Every new test case is always initially set with a default test type, which can be applied in the Test type settings.

A default test type can be set with these two steps:

  1. On the Test types page, hover your mouse cursor over a test type you want to make a default one.

  2. Click the Mark as default test type button.

You’ll see a message saying that you’ve set a specific test type as a default one. Please notice that every newly created test case will be marked as a Default Test Type.
