Per project settings
Jira and project administrators can also manage QAlity settings within a single project. This can be done by clicking on the Three-dot menu next to the Jira Project name → Project settings → Apps → QAlity – settings:
On this page, you will find a description of all the features available on the QAlity Settings page.
Most of the QAlity data appears or disappears immediately after switching the toggle on or off, but for some of the links in the project, it may take up to one day to show or hide them effectively.
Enable QAlity for this project
‘Enable QAlity for this project’ is the main setting controlling whether QAlity is enabled for the project.
When disabled, QAlity will not show any data for the project. It will look as if QAlity didn’t exist for it at all.
Show QAlity in all work items
‘Show QAlity in all work items’ is a setting that controls whether the QAlity panel is displayed inside every Jira work item.
The QAlity panel allows you to add, link, and manage tests inside Jira issues. When disabled, the QAlity panel will be only displayed inside Jira work items of the dedicated work type - QAlity Test, which is the representation of the test case.
Enable creating test cases in this project
This option allows you to add a QAlity Test work type to the project. If the QAlity Test work type is not present, then the prompt ‘Currently, you can’t create test cases in this project.’ will be visible.
Depending on the Jira product type, you will have to create the QAlity Test work type manually or the app will do this automatically:
For Company-managed projects, all you need to do is click on ‘Add QAlity Test work type’ to automatically add it to your project:
In case of Team-managed projects, clicking on ‘Add work type in project settings’ will take you to Work types settings of your Project. From there, you will be able to use the option ‘Add work type’ to add the QAlity Test work item:
The next two options on the page can assist in creating a QAlity Test work item in your project by supplying the required work type name and test icon:
Work type name
Clicking the copy button will copy the ‘QAlity Test’ name to your clipboard.
QAlity Test icon
Clicking the download button will save the looking glass icon to your device.
Please note that the work item with a name other than ‘QAlity Test’, e.g. 'QA Test', will not be detected by the QAlity app as a compatible test case.
After creating a QAlity Test work item, the prompt ‘You can create test cases in this project.’ will be visible in the settings.
An additional option to disable the work item will now be available, which will take you once again to Project settings to disable or remove it (for Team-managed projects) or automatically remove it from your project (for Company-managed projects).
