This feature is available in QAlity Plus - Test Management for Jira exclusively.
When a test cycle is completed you can mark it as closed. It will still be displayed in reports, however, will no longer be possible to add new test cases. This will allow you to keep it simple and clean while creating new test cycles.
To close a test cycle go to the Test Cycle Overview page and click the actions menu then select close.
Alternatively, you can also achieve this by clicking Close button directly on the Test cycle page.
By analogy, it’s also possible to Reopen a closed Test cycle on the Test Cycles Overview page or directly on the Test Cycle page if you ever need to.
